thursday night creatives

every thursday night, our craft group meets for two hours.

the thursday night creatives have been getting together since before June 2016, sewing bunting, screen printing tshirts and painting signs for last year’s World Environment Day Festival which was sadly cancelled due to the forecast horrendous weather.

since then individual projects and skill sharing have been pursued with activities like weaving, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking and more going on.
currently, we're in the swing of a big community project. we're making 1,000 flowers crafted from old tshirts to create a tree jumper as an entry to the warwick jumpers and jazz festival.
it will also be used at our world environment day festival on saturday july 15.
we're on the hunt for adult sized tshirts to cut up for the flowers. these can be dropped into the art gallery.
we'd love people to get involved and we're happy to provide a kit of tshirt strips, needle and thread to make it easy.
making the flowers is a simple process, and just involves a gathering thread, and a few extra stitches to form the rose. no great sewing ability is required.
we'll be running a session at the Boonah library on tuesday march 21. it's free and no registrations required.

the group meets at the pavilion in the Boonah Showgrounds at the bottom of Oliver Street every Thursday evening between 6pm and 8pm. The cost is $3 a night.
tea and coffee are on hand, and a plate of food to share is always welcomed.
