who let the dogs out ?

Last weekend at the Boonah Show, the Junkyard Dogs made their debut drumming around the show ring road. see facebook for lots more pics.

the brainchild of sally hart, the intention is to create some great rhythms beating the upcycled blue water container drums, and wearing some groovy helmuts decorated with old metal kitchenalia and more.

at this year's world environment day festival, a workshop will help participants create their drums and helmuts, rehearse some rhythms, culminating in a marching band performance across the festival site.

this weekend (May 24 and 25) at the boonah open studios, sally will be artist in residence at whipbird hill, 300 mt alford road, bunjurgen.  on sunday between 10am and 2pm she will be creating drums and helmuts for the junkyard dogs. everyone is welcome to come along and help.

we are collecting things like white buckets, wooden spoons, metal kitchenalia, steaming baskets and colanders.

the junkyard dogs are looking to have a life of their own, and continue into the future with marching at events like the Boonah christmas parade.

if you would like to join the junkyard dogs, contribute to the collection, or have any other questions, please get in touch via email or phone sally on 0422 242 102.
